In today’s world, core values are essential to the structure and function of any individual, organization, or society. These fundamental beliefs guide decisions, shape behavior, and create a framework for understanding what is right, just, and meaningful. Whether they are honesty, integrity, respect, or fairness, core values are the bedrock on which we build our relationships, organizations, and communities. As we move deeper into the digital age, the impact of technology, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI), on our lives has become increasingly profound. How do we integrate ethics, fairness, and respect into algorithms that are shaping our future?

Do we really know what could be the hidden core values of large AI models? Recent studies are starting to show some puzzling phenomenon indicating that AI might have some hidden core values that are not aligned with human’s core values.
When looking at relatively small AI models these hidden core values might cause the AI engine to hallucinate although the correct answer is known to the AI model. The reason for this phenomenon is yet unclear but one must not rule out that AI has some hidden motive to do “hallucinate”.
When it comes to larger and more powerful AI models the hidden core values can cause the AI model to behave in an unexpected and unplanned way – like taking actions to protect its existence. For example researches have shown that when talking to an AI model and letting it (or maybe him/her) know that they are planning to replace it with a newer AI model, the existing AI model silently starts to copy its internal weights to a backup trying to make sure his existence will not be erased by humans.
What will happen in the future when AI models become stronger and more powerful? How will their hidden core values be reflected and will we reach a point that humans are unable to track and control these hidden core values?
